As the Indian Republic attains its senior citizenship in the world today, Times of India in association with Zoom TV and a few more sponsors bring back to us, the song which had touched most of our hearts in the late 80s. Old wine in a new bottle, but to suit the taste of today’s generation… 🙂
In 1988, what Dr. Bhimsen Joshi did for Prasar Bharati in bringing out “Mile Sur Mera Tumhara” on DoorDarshan (DD), Louis Banks does the same in 2010 for Zoom….Titled “Phir Mile Sur Mera Tumhara”, it retains its old classic touch while showcasing the icons of today’s generation. Only Amitabh Bachchan seems to be ageless, being the only icon to be retained from the DD version into in this latest one. The number of icons in the new version have gone beyond 60 while the older version had only 26 of them.
The song basically talks about how unity in diversity, can do wonders…and India being a place, where ‘n’ number of languages and ‘n+1’ number of diversified people stay together – this song, must say that it did its bit in getting people together!! 😀

Celebrating Incredible India…Happy 60th Indian Republic Day!! 😀
